Once a train stop for the busy banana industry, the 1894 station is now a general store/post office which also incorporates a licensed café; furniture hand-crafted from camphor laurel is also sold there. The village is noted for the long-running pottery and gallery which is housed in a 1921 heritage building across the street. A garage (specialising in VW’s) provides petrol, and there is a nearby bed and breakfast on a coffee plantation.
